Facial ultrasound. Anatomy and ultrasonographic techniques for aesthetic medicine

In this volume, the author brings forward a perspective shaped by the convergence of radiology and aesthetic medicine. Experience in the use of ultrasound as both a diagnostic and procedural tool is applied to the study of facial ultrasound anatomy, with the aim of providing clinicians with an interpretation of anatomy that is real, dynamic, and patient-specific, thereby overcoming the limitations of purely descriptive anatomy. The advent of high-frequency ultrasound probes has in fact enabled the integration of ultrasound into dermatology and aesthetic medicine, representing a true revolution in terms of precision and safety. The author's working philosophy is grounded in the centrality of patient safety and in the principle that, whenever a tool exists that is capable of reducing risk and improving procedural accuracy, its use should be considered indispensable rather than optional. Within this framework, ultrasound is not viewed as an ancillary technique, but as an essential component of contemporary aesthetic medicine, and an unavoidable pillar of its future evolution.
