Dermatologia pediatrica

The morpho-functional differences between the skin of newborn, of a child and of an adult determine unique clinical features that often make diagnosis difficult. After addressing cutaneous embryology, the book examines clearly and carefully the anatomical, structural and physiological features of childhood. The book deals then with main dermatological diseases in children, with special attention on neonatal skin disorders, genodermatosis, eczema, allergic or hypersensitivity diseases. Some very important chapters are also dedicated to autoimmune blistering diseases and adnexal diseases. The book deals also with topical subjects such as cutaneous manifestations of pediatric HIV infection and entomodermatoses in children and in Lyme disease. Great importance is given to the psychological implications of dermatological diseases in children and adolescents.
