Considered by many the most comprehensive text on concepts and practice of anaesthesiology, Miller Anestesia is now at its sixth edition. Like previous editions, the text is divided into sections dealing with theoretical and practical concepts of modern anaesthesiology starting from the history of anaesthesiology. The section on basic sciences (Section II) deals with basic pharmacological principles, individual drug classes and physiology. It also includes some chapters on administration of drugs, complementary and alternative therapies and statistics. This section is followed by clinical anaesthesia and related topics. The text features colour plates on locoregional anesthesia and transesophageal echocardiography. The new chapters in this edition reflect the importance of recent medical and social advances in anaesthesia. The chapters already present in previous editions have been thoroughly revised and updated. This sixth edition has also a website with regular updates in English.
