Dyslipidaemias: Classification, Investigations and Screening

Identify patients with familial hypercholesterolaemia and their relatives.Identify secondary dyslipidaemia (most commonly caused by hypothyroidism, either overt or subclinical).Identify dyslipidaemia associated with other risk factors (with special emphasis on persons with ischaemic heart disease or other arterial diseases, strong familial history of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, metabolic syndrome , high blood pressure, and smokers).
