La forma della città e del territorio - 2

Founded in 1990, the Atlante tematico di Topografia antica has brought together the work of 290 scholars from universities, heritage authorities, research institutes, public and private organizations, and independent entities. Every contribution drives the advancement of topographic studies through the presentation of new data, critical re-evaluations, scholarly debates, and the application of both traditional and cutting-edge analytical tools. Across its thirty published issues, the journal has consistently focused on the structural, political, social, and economic dynamics essential to understanding ancient cities and landscapes. It thoroughly addresses historical contexts alongside the complex phenomena driving infrastructure development, architectural monuments, and environmental transformation. The published research stands out for its interdisciplinary and broad chronological perspective. Crucially, it demonstrates a clear awareness of the civic and cultural significance that academic research can and should hold within modern society, bridging historical inquiry with broader public awareness.
