The Rivista di Studi Pompeiani, established in 1987, is the journal of the International Association of Friends of Pompeii which was founded by Amedeo Maiuri in 1955. Its purpose is the "better knowledge of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplonti and Stabia", and support for the then Superintendence of Antiquities, the body responsible for the sites stewardship. The journal's editors have been subsequent Superintendents in office: B. Conticello (I-1987 to VI-1993-94), P. G. Guzzo (VII 1995-96 to XXX 2019), M. Osanna ( XXXI-2020 al XXXV-2024). From vol. number XXXVI-2025, the role of the Editor-in-Chief was taken by the Director of the Archaeologica Park of Pompeii, Gabriel Zuchtriegel.
