Este libro es un estudio macroterritorial de la organización y administración de una provincia romana, la Baetica, examinando su delineación externa e interna, el patrón de asentamiento y una reinterpretación sobre su constitución. Su contenido trata del entendimiento de cómo los territorios y paisajes que los romanos fueron aprehendiendo y entendiendo e, igualmente, reconfigurando de tal manera que se diesen las divisiones provinciales que se formularon en época imperial. También es un estudio de los procesos e indicios que permiten conocer y entender conexiones territoriales y cómo fueron entendidas y vividas por las poblaciones provinciales de esos espacios, sin caer en el reduccionismo de separar territorio y habitante. This book is a macro-territorial study of the organization and administration of a Roman province, Baetica, examining its external and internal delineation, settlement pattern and a reinterpretation of its constitution. Its content deals with the understanding of how the territories and landscapes were apprehended and understood by the Romans and equally reconfigured in such a way as to give rise to the provincial divisions that were formulated in imperial times. It is also a study of the processes and indications that allow us to know and understand territorial connections and how they were understood and lived by the provincial populations of those spaces, without falling into the reductionism of separating territory and the inhabitants.
