Centenario della Costituzione sovietica del 1918. Influssi nei paesi del Mediterraneo

This volume gathers the proceedings of the III "Russia and the Mediterranean" Seminar (Sassari, 2018), commemorating the centenary of the 1918 Soviet Constitution (RSFSR) and evaluating its legal, socio-political, and conceptual resonance across the Mediterranean region. Moving beyond internal Russian historiographical debates, the collected essays adopt an international legal perspective to examine how the 1918 text—despite its brief application and underlying ideological authoritarianism—impacted foreign constitutional design. Key thematic axes include the constitutional status of labor, the transformation of citizenship, the secularization of public order, and local Soviet governance structures. Comparative analysis highlights how fundamental principles of the 1918 Charter influenced post-WWI Western European instruments, such as the 1920 Charter of Carnaro and the 1919 Weimar Constitution, as well as subsequent Mediterranean and Latin political-legal thought. Ultimately, the collection demonstrates the autonomous life of constitutional models ratione imperii and imperio rationis, contrasting formal text with operative reality.
