I fasti di Amiternum

Questo libro è uno strumento agile e didattico per approfondire la conoscenza degli aspetti storici, topografici e antiquari dei Fasti di Amiternum, oggi custoditi al Museo Nazionale d'Abruzzo. Sin dal momento della loro scoperta nel 1675, infatti, i Fasti amiternini hanno suscitato l'interesse della comunità scientifica in un crescendo di studi che ancora oggi non si è esaurito. Costituiti da un calendario disposto su due tabulae marmoree e da una lista dei consolicontenuta in un'unica lastra di marmo, i Fasti amiternini rappresentano una delle più importanti testimonianze epigrafiche di questo genere. Di questo prezioso documento epigrafico si è voluto non solo far comprenderne il significato che esso ha avuto per la comunità amiternina nell'ambito della rivoluzione politica, sociale e ideologica avviata da Augusto e portata avanti da Tiberio ma, allo stesso tempo, offrire al più ampio pubblico una nuova edizione e una analisi del testo che ne sveli il fascino. This book is an accessible and didactic tool to deepen our knowledge of the historical, topographical, and antiquarian aspects of the Fasti of Amiternum, now housed in the National Museum of Abruzzo. Since their discovery in 1675, in effect, the Fasti amiternini have aroused the interest of the academic community in a surge of studies that has not yet come to an end. Consisting of a calendar arranged on two marble tabulae and a list of consuls contained in a single marble slab, the Fasti amiternini represent one of the most important epigraphic testimonies of this kind. The aim of this precious epigraphic document is not only to explain its significance for the Amiternina community in the context of the political, social, and ideological revolution initiated by Augustus and continued by Tiberius but at the same time to offer the wider public a new edition and an analysis of the text that reveals its fascination.
