The volume reinterprets the Roman School not as a stylistic current, but as a critical tradition capable of running through Rationalism, Neorealism, and Postmodernism without identifying with any one of them. At a time marked by the proliferation of self-referential architectural images, Lucio Barbera and Verismo poses an open question: does modernity truly coincide with rupture, or can it also be understood as critical continuity – the capacity "to set history back in motion"?
